The maximum weight that will be placed on the scale including any containers, scoops ect.

Most scales but not all can display ounces, pounds, grams, kilograms and much more. It is important you know what primary unit of measure your application will require, some applications may require a particular weigh unit that is not standard on most indicators.

HOW ACCURATE DOES YOUR APPLICATION NEED TO BE?

Readability is the smallest division that can be displayed on the readout. An example of this is a floor scale going by 1 pound graduations, it is recommended that if you want 1 pound accuracy that you purchase a scale with a graduation of .5 divisions.

HOW LARGE DOES THE WEIGHING PLATFORM OR PLATTER NEED TO BE?

Scales and balances come in a variety of sizes, if your not seeing a particular size that will meet your needs custom scales can be fabricated to fit your application.
